Sometimes it is hard to find performance opportunities as a student. The old problem of everyone wants someone with experience, yet you can't get out there to get the experience cause you don't have enough experience. Luckily, we have a solution via Student Showcases every few months or so at the lovely venue Estia Greek Taverna in Boca Raton. On a select night the students of Cheeky Bellydance come and show their latest choreographies in Belly dance, Bollywood, fire dance and more. Sometimes we even get a surprise performance or two from Sirens, guest photographers and videographers and live drummers to brighten the evening even more! Not to mention that Estia has the best Greek food this side of the Atlantic with fresh fish and lamb entrees and their world famous chocolate baklava.

Sirens are happy to announce two amazing shows next week! We will be giving an exciting sneak peak of our 2015/16 Season Show and an amazing, not to be repeated finale featuring the drumming of Faycal Aizz of Paris.

Faycal Aizzoune is a trained Middle Eastern percussionist who specializies in Morrocan, Egyptian and Balkan music. He is based out of Paris and regurlarly tours Europe performing percussion for bands, singers and dancers. In 2010 he collaborated with famous percussionists, Djamel Mellouk and Nicolas Derolin. He has played for many famous belly dancers including, Virginia (Miami US) Anasma (New York), Lolie (Paris), Assia Guemra (Paris), Souraya Baghdadi (Paris), Taly (Paris), Sarah Colin (Paris), Shiraz (Paris), Nezha (Strasbourg) Sonia Gabsi (Asnieres). Recently he accompanied the Egyptian singer, Donia Massoud in the French leg of her tour.

The shows will be opened by the talented Gypsy Fire (5/21) and Isis Unveiled (5/20). Come out for a fun evening of dance, live percussion and fabulous food. Details for specific events are below:

Loosing weight and getting healthy is probably the most popular New Year Resolution. Even when we are in a healthy weight range, we are always striving for a better body, better balance, control and finesse. Party Ideas: Nutcracker Land of the Sweets Belly Dancers

For me the Holidays always bring up memories of ballet, specifically "The Nutcracker". Coming from classical ballet this was the time of year when we were little we got to share the stage with the professional dancers, and when we got older we had the privilege to dance the dances ourselves. So out of this nostalgia I have created a belly dance variation of the dances in the Land of the Sweets. These are the short vignettes that are iconic from "The Nutcracker" which showcase a ballet variation of folk dances around the world that represent different sweets. 

For our version we do a slow veil dance for the Arabian Dance, or Coffee dance, and spirited fan veil dance for Chinese Dance or Tea dance and an Andalusian Flamenco fusion for the Spanish Dance or Chocolate Dance. For something sweet and just in time for Christmas, book today!
